Are you a dog lover with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to help empower others? If so, you could be the perfect fit for our Kennel Technician position at Pilot Dogs! Pilot Dogs is a non-profit organization in Columbus, Ohio that trains and provides guide dogs (at no charge!) for the blind and visually impaired. The Kennel Technician will ensure that our dogs receive the best care possible while in our facility and will support the organizational mission and goals of Pilot Dogs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and/or disinfecting kennel, public spaces, and grounds
- Feeding and administering medications to dogs
- Bathing, grooming, exercising, and playing with dogs
- Monitoring and reporting changes or concerns in dog health
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Kennel Manager
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be 18 or older with reliable transportation
- Must have the physical ability to work with dogs of various breeds and sizes and to be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills and be a team player with a positive attitude
- Previous kennel experience is beneficial but not required
