The responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performing comprehensive telephonic patient assessment and following all Patient First Policies and Procedures;
Following established clinical protocols/guidelines and providing appropriate patient instructions according to urgency of calls;
Complete documentation of all communication with patients, physicians, staff, employer, or insurance companies in the patient medical record;
Uses, protects, and discloses patient Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability act (HIPAA) standards;
Expediting emergency calls as needed;
Helping develop new members of the nurse call center.
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
High school graduate or equivalent;
State license as a registered nurse in good standing;
Clinical experience with Patient First a plus;
Utilization review and call center experience a plus;
Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (required);
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that requires strong oral, written and interpersonal communication, problem solving, facilitation and analytical skills.

Helping patients with questions about their recent Patient First visit;
Performing comprehensive telephonic patient assessment;
Following established clinical protocols/guidelines and providing appropriate patient instructions according to urgency of calls;
Completing documentation of telephonic conversations with patients, physician offices, employers or insurance companies in the patient’s medical record with precision and accuracy;
Translating oral information into concise and accurate written documentation using standard medical guidelines and Patient First approved abbreviations;
Uses, protects, and discloses patient Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability act (HIPAA) standards;
Notifying pharmacies of new prescriptions and authorizations of refills as ordered by the physician;
Expediting emergency calls as needed;
Facilitating communication between patients and Patient First physicians;
Helping develop new members of the nurse call center;
Following all Patient First policies and procedures;
Occasionally working shifts at a Patient First center.
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
High school graduate or equivalent;
Employee must be 18 years of age or older;
State license as a registered nurse in good standing;
Minimum of two years clinical experience with Patient First(preferred);
Utilization review and call center experience a plus;
Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel (required);
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that requires strong oral, written and interpersonal communication, problem solving, facilitation and analytical skills (required);
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail(required).
