ABOUT US: Yarmouth Lumber, a division of Northstar Transport and Logistics, is a regional trucking company. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Transportation Dispatcher to join our growing team.
JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Transportation Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of vehicles and drivers to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. You will play a crucial role in managing daily operations, solving logistical challenges, and maintaining communication with drivers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule transportation services to meet client demands.
- Monitor the status of transportation vehicles and ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and support.
- Track and manage vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Handle emergency situations and resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Transportation Dispatcher or in a similar role.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics is a plus.
