Job Title: Maintenance /Facilities Engineer
Morning availability
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality. Including but not limited to, the building, grounds, operation of its equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure the best possible lodging experience for each guest, within the framework of the operating guidelines of the hotel.
- Follow the hotel’s grooming and appearance guidelines by wearing provided maintenance uniform and nametag.
- Complete tasks and assignments on the daily Maintenance Checklist.
- Complete Maintenance Request Forms within 12 hours.
- Complete the Preventive Maintenance program on a timely basis.
- Keep accurate logs of all PMs completed on a quarterly basis.
- Provide full Preventive Maintenance such as Lighting, Electrical circuits and wiring, Plumbing, HVAC, Guest room walls, Appliances, Doors and locks, Furniture, Carpet (remove stains), and Floor coverings to two rooms each day.
- Monitor tasks in the database and ensure that any outstanding items are completed in a timely manner.
- Practice safe working conditions under Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, including Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Practice safe chemical handling as prescribed in Material Safety and Data Sheets.
- Maintains inventory and submits purchase requests weekly to the General Manager.
- Determine the need and coordinate the use of outside vendors with the General Manager.
- Keep the front desk informed of out-of-order rooms.
- Clear trash and empty property trash containers twice daily or as needed.
- Sweep and clean sidewalks and stairs as needed (trash and weather-related)
- Clear debris from the parking lot, landscaping, and dumpster area daily.
- Ensure the exterior building and grounds are clean by using a pressure washer and blower.
- In the event of inclement weather, create a safe environment for all guests and employees within the property.
- Ensure Guest Laundry washers, dryers, vending machines, and common areas are cleaned as needed.
- Cleaning light fixtures, bulbs (as needed), filters, vents, etc.
- Seal any windows and doors to cover any gaps, as needed.
- Check and maintain the water heater, boiler, roof units, and any other major mechanical appliances for the hotel.
- Maintain clean, organized maintenance workshops and storerooms.
- Responsible for Shop inventory and equipment.
- Maintain public and pool area daily. Keeping free of debris and checking pool/spa filters.
- Keep up exterior appearance by fixing broken curbs, painting any curbs, stenciling parking lot lines, etc.
- Ensure that all reports are prepared completely and promptly.
- Ensure that proper key controls are in effect.
- Servicing the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals, cleaning the pool & filter, and maintaining proper records.
- Perform additional assignments as required.
- Ability to repair/replace damaged walls and paint.
- Ability to repair/replace/move Cable, Telephone, and CAT5 cables and wires.
- Ability to operate equipment safely.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must obtain, if does not possess, CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certificate.
- 2 years of Building/grounds maintenance experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance skills required.
- Must be able to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry, and pull up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to reach overhead, climb, crouch, and twist required.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must be available/on-call 24 hours a day for facility emergencies.
- Must be reliable; weekends and holidays are required.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
