The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging supplies, and wholesale goods as well as receiving and overseeing inventory stock levels.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams. It's a high-impact role that works directly with company leadership, including the owner and President, and has the opportunity to expand and grow.
Prior purchasing experience is required, in addition to inventory management and computer skills using ERP software and Microsoft's suite of products. Spanish speaking a plus.
Responsibilities include:
- Purchase raw materials, packaging and wholesale goods
- Manage and update consumption and use forecasts in collaboration with the production and sales teams
- Schedule and manage inbound freight, keeping the warehouse team up to date on receiving's each week
- Receive inbound deliveries and put away product in a timely manner; rotate inventory as needed; get support from warehouse team members as needed
- Ensure accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and physical inventories
- Improve and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for purchasing, receiving, and inventory activities to improve productivity and accuracy
