Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking an Investment Grade Separately Managed Account Municipal Bond Portfolio Manager (Associate/ Director) to join our team and contribute to our commitment to delivering exceptional service and results. The firm is dedicated to providing high-quality investment solutions tailored to the specific needs and goals of our clients.
The Investment Grade Separately Managed Account Municipal Bond Portfolio Manager will assist in managing SMAs focused on investment grade municipal bonds. The role involves supporting the management of individual client accounts, implementing tailored investment strategies, and collaborating with senior portfolio managers and analysts. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience and grow in the municipal bond market while working closely with clients to meet their specific investment objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management: Assist in managing investment grade municipal bond SMAs, including actively monitoring portfolio risk metrics by producing reports, and adjusting holdings in accounts as necessary.
- Trading: Execute trades for SMAs in line with portfolio strategies and market conditions.
- Client Interaction: Work closely with senior portfolio managers to understand client needs and assist in creating portfolio analysis and reporting for presentations with clients, marketing, performance commentary, and other client communications, responding to ad-hoc requests from clients and internal groups. Partnering with client advisors on new business opportunities
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Interfaces with compliance and operations team to ensure effective back office, trade settlement and governance procedures, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from 4 year university
- 2 -4 plus years of experience in municipal bond or fixed income investment management, preferably with exposure to separately managed accounts
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, Bloomberg and Investortools Perform a plus
- FINRA Registrations: SIE, Series 7, and 63 required (must complete within 120 days of hire)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- Confident and self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision under high pressure
Compensation:
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
