Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Job Summary:
The position of Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) must demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The LVN provides nursing care to patients that are alcohol or drug dependent. The LVN’s scope of practice prepares patients and cares for them throughout their entire treatment in a medically supportive capacity. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that clients receive high quality healthcare services. The LVN reports to and collaborates with CA Drug Detox LLC CEO, Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing, and Medical Director.
Key Responsibilities:
· Nursing Care: Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by the medical team. Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, symptoms, and medical conditions. Provide skilled nursing interventions as needed.
· Medication Management: Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to medication administration protocols and regulations. Monitor and manage medication side effects. Medication passes for self-administered medications.
· Collaboration: Collaborate with the medical director, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients. Maintain open communication within the multidisciplinary team.
· Charting/Clinical Documentation: Ordering and inputting new medications and changes into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Maintain detailed and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, medication records, and treatment plans. Ensure compliance with all documentation requirements.
· Daily tasks: Perform vitals, BAC, Covid Test, UDS.
· Patient Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including physical, psychological, and social aspects. Also use CIWA & COWS for specific assessments. Provide skilled nursing interventions as needed, within the scope of practice.
· Standard of Care: Provide Incidental Medical Service (IMS) standards and related policies under the supervision of the Medical Director/Physician. Strictly adhere to facility policies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
· Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and medication management. Provide guidance on healthy lifestyle choices and recovery strategies.
· Observation: Observation rounds, documentation of daily changes and medical needs.
· Safety and Hygiene: Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients. Follow infection control protocols, maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and common areas, and promote patient safety at all times.
· Crisis Response: Be prepared to respond to emergent medical conditions or complications, providing immediate nursing care and assisting in crisis interventions.
· Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, contributing to the enhancement of patient care outcomes and safety.
· Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in nursing, detoxification protocols, and addiction treatment through ongoing education and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
· Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in good standing.
· Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
· Current TB test, not more than 60 days prior to, or 7 days after employment, to be renewed annually.
· Maintain current CPR/FirstAid training certification.
Newly licensed/graduates OK.

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour

- Substance Abuse Treatment: 1 year (Preferred)
