We are looking for Registered Nurses to care for our patients and facilitate in their speedy recovery for our ambulatory surgery center. We have several positions open for pre-op, post op and circulator nurses. We have two surgery centers operating out of one building, with this there is opportunity to work full time or just part time. Our doctors specialize in eye or pain.
We are seeking a qualified Pre-Op/PACU Nurses to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The PACU nurse will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia. The RN Circulator manages all the necessary care inside the surgery room, assisting the team in maintaining and creating a comfortable, safe environment for the patient and observing the team from a wide perspective. He or she must ensure all surgical team members perform in a unified effort.
The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision with the willingness to cross train. We are looking for a compassionate, cool-tempered and able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient’s well-being by providing high quality nursing care.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery
- Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
- Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
- Assess patients’ post-operative condition
- Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria
- Log all findings in patient files
- Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort
- Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
- Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies
Skills
- Proven experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
- BS or other diploma from a nursing program
- Valid nursing license
- BLS/ACLS
