THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
Position is located at our 720 South E Street, San Bernardino, CA 92408 location. In your role as Mentor Coach you will provide teaching staff with individualized coaching and support to enhance the quality of early childhood classroom services. Essential functions include but not limited to: Conducting classroom visits for observing activities, interactions and to provide on-site support to teaching staff; using appropriate tools conduct observations to ensure school readiness goals are met; providing training to coordinators and teaching staff; providing reports to Director and providing schedule of mentoring and coaching activities.
YOUR SKILL
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Development or related field
- Minimum of three years' experience in teaching infant/toddlers to school age children as well as expertise in the theories and principles of child growth and development, early childhood education and family support
- Minimum of one year providing mentor-coaching or technical assistance to 0-5 teaching staff
- California Child Development Director's Permit
- Knowledge of Head Start goals and objectives for children and their families
- Understanding of various cultural backgrounds of Head Start families
- Capacity to offer assistance to teachers in the implementation of curricula to meet the group and individual needs
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass a fingerprint and criminal background check
- Ability to pass TB test and health screening
- Proof of COVID-19 and other required vaccinations
- Valid Driver’s license
- Must be computer literate
