Job Title: Accounting Supervisor
Work Location: Davao, on-site.

With the expansion of the business, Unis is seeking an Accountant Supervisor, who will be a driven, independent, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual that will help a rapidly growing company manage and scale its accounting system, process, and controls in Philippines to support the US business. Reporting to the manager in the US, the Accountant Supervisor will be responsible for setting up the Philippines accounting team as the back office for all the US companies, all the daily accounting works including AR, AP, P&L, Balance Sheet, and will oversee all month end closing activities. The Accountant Supervisor will manage all accounting transactions, work with the US manager to implement process improvements, financials planning and analysis and support senior management to drive change and positively impact the day-to-day business operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To build up the Philippines accounting team to support all the US companies, recruit, train, and develop teams for daily accounting functions/ operations
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports.
- Supervise and guide the accounting team in the verification of data entries.
- Review all accounting work and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Manage the creation, posting, and reconciliation of AR/AP/GL journal entries.
- Oversee the monthly and annual book closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports for management review.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Create and maintain proper workflow and SOP for the department.
- Work with IT team to continuously improve our ERP and accounting system
- Filing and other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- Proficiency in English communication.
- Must have advanced adaptability in new IT technology, including, AI/operation/ERP/bank/Finance system.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Managed a team for more than 5 people.
- Experience to build up a team from scratch will be highly preferred.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Logistic/Trucking business will be highly preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, experience with Netsuite will be highly preferred.
