HIRING PAY IS $12.98 - $14.28/hr
In addition to base pay, this PART-TIME position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.
Description :
This classification is responsible for maintaining kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Duties and responsibilities include sweeping and mopping kitchen floors as needed, cleaning dishes and utensils, washing workspaces and removing trash, and assisting with food preparation as needed. Reports to Executive Chef & Conference Center Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Setup and or break down of dishwashing area.
- Sweeps and mops floor as needed.
- Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to dishwashing machine. Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand. Runs glasses through dish machine.
- Washes kitchen worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen equipment.
- Separates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers; steam-cleans or hoses-out garbage cans.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of hand truck.
- Sets up banquet tables, when required.
- Washes and peels vegetables using a knife or peeling machine, when required.
- Puts away all clean utensils; puts away & rotates stock in designated areas.
- Polishes silver, using burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth, if required.
- Sets up facilities for events including dishware, glassware, silverware, linens and other amenities as directed by supervisor.
- Assists with set-up and teardown of special event rooms (moves tables, chairs, catering equipment, dance-floors, stages, etc.) as required, vacuums and steam cleans carpets, cleans restrooms and lobby areas when needed.
- Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to management. Notifies supervisor and/or security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items or alleged thefts.
- Buses tables and removes dirty dishes and utensils following lunches or events. Keeps work area clean and safe. Corrects any possible situations that could cause injury (i.e. water on floor, banana peels, etc.)
- Works as a team member with co-workers in setting up for events, preparing food lines, and restocking buffet.
- Maintains close communication and works cooperatively with Executive Chef and the rest of the staff and co-workers to ensure consistency of services and the highest quality of operation.
