The registered nurse provides and manages nursing care for an assigned specific population of patients and families to achieve stated clinical and organizational outcomes. Is responsible for using the nursing process in the care of patients/families including education along the care continuum. The registered nurse collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure safe, timely, efficient, and effective care that responds to the individual needs of the patient/family. The registered nurse is responsible for meeting and maintaining established patient/family care and professional practice standards. Directs and oversees care provided by assistive personnel through delegation, evaluation, and coordination to ensure patient/family needs are met.
