Billing Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Process billing statements and invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct account analysis to reconcile discrepancies and resolve billing issues
- Utilize phone etiquette to communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries
- Monitor accounts receivable
-Responds as needed to account receivable problems
-Oversees the claim submission and tracking process
-Reviews, coordinates, and implements all changes to payer claim submission processes
-Monitor denials from all lines of business
-Ensure unpaid claims are reviewed and appropriate action is taken
-Insurance Verification
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Article 31 billing is a MUST/Experience with Medicare and MLTC billing and coding
-Understanding of billing modifiers
Two (2) years Previous experience with mental health billing a MUST
Knowledge of insurance guidelines, specifically State Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare and Third Party payers
Experience with AccuMedic billing software is a tremendous PLUS
Denial Management Experience.
Demonstrated experience in A/R reconciliation, reduction, and reporting.
Working relationships with insurance companies and their network providers.
Demonstration of Excel Intermediate knowledge.
Performs other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Billing Department.
Enlists the efforts of senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
The Billing Specialist candidate must possess advanced computer and office equipment knowledge (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word)
