Merchandising Assistant Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Secures and counts all money in store including cash, checks and credit cards
- Ensures all deposits are made per Brinks In-Store Safe policy.
- Responsible for check acceptance and authorization
- Operates and balances register according to company guidelines
- Knowledgeable and aware of all store operations such as, but not limited to, utilities, fire/safety hazards, signage and store layout
- Recruit, hire and train all employees at store level
- Responsible for training all store associates using the Company training programs
- Create employee schedule in order to maximize productivity while maintaining budgets and meeting sales goals
- Responsible for accurate receiving of store shipments according to company guidelines
- Responsible for the timely processing of all store shipments to the sales floor as per company procedures
- Must secure store keys at all times
- Responsible for all daily and weekly paperwork and balancing registers
- Supervises the execution of all markdowns and price adjustments in a timely manner according to company policy
- Aware of causes of inventory shrinkage and ensures loss prevention policies are followed
- Maintains low inventory shrink results and high audit scores as acceptable per company policy, takes action to ensure these goals are achieved
- Approves merchandise refunds and exchanges
- Communicates to Buyers and District Managers via voice mail and written communication about merchandise concerns
- Maintains clean, organized store and stockroom in accordance with current merchandising directives
- Assists District Managers with any information/help requested such as assisting in supervising another store
- Serves as a role model to associates in adhering to Abide all company policies, procedures and safety precautions
- Maintains high standards of customer service including ensuring that associates are greeting customers and efficiently and accurately recording transactions
- Responsible for optimizing the use of budgeted payroll hours through implementing effective scheduling guidelines
Section 1: Orientation 5 * Ensures that all documentation required by the Operations, Merchandising, Human Resource,or Loss Prevention departments are accurately maintained.
- Ensures strict compliance to all Federal, State and Local labor laws and maintenance of accurate record keeping of human resources information
- Responsible for developing and maintaining a positive work environment in store and addressing all associate relations issues to ensure achievement of such an environment
- Enforces policies and procedures which uphold the efficiency of the store including, but not limited to, customer layaways, customer refunds and exchanges, etc.
- Ensures that all information entered into Applicate Tracking (Virtual Edge) and Human Capital Management (Workday) Systems is accurate and the privacy and confidentiality of that information is maintained
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 39 per week
