Job Description
The Clinical Dietitian, Athletics reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Clinical Dietitian, Athletics provides clinical services to patients. This position makes referrals to external clinicians or treatment programs or other community resources, as appropriate and in accordance with established departmental protocol.
Responsibilities:

Provide individual nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy services, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, evaluation, data analysis and documentation

Create and provide in person, virtual and written performance nutrition education for individuals, teams, groups and wellness programs

Evaluate dietary supplements under the guidelines of the Big Ten, NCAA, USADA and WADA

Collaborate with food services providers to develop performance menus and provide accommodations for those with food allergies, intolerances, and special diets

Collaborate with sports medicine, sports performance, sports psychology and sport coaches to address individual and group health and performance
Qualifications
Required:
-
Registered dietitian (with active registration through Commission in Dietetic Registration) and ability to obtain Illinois State RD Licensure within 3 months of date of hire
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in nutrition, exercise physiology, or related field

1-2 years of experience as a sports dietitian

Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
