JOB SUMMARY
This role has responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, communications, employee events, performance management, on-site Company fitness center and being a resource to all employees in a professional manner. This person is part of a small department working collaboratively and focused on problem solving and delivering solutions to employees. This is an on-site position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the recruiting process including creating job postings, sourcing, screening, pre-employment testing if applicable, interviewing and making hiring recommendations.

Manage the recruiting process through the HRIS Talent Acquisition module.

Lead the onboarding and orientation process for new employees.

Assist in the union contract interpretation.

Provide HRIS guidance, administration, and troubleshooting.

Manage Company communications including preparation, publication, and distribution of the weekly newsletter.

Coordinate the monthly office Employee Performance Reviews in the HRIS system.

Stay abreast of and implement applicable local, state, and federal workplace regulations.
- Complete annual compliance reporting: EEO-1, VETS-4212 and the Affirmative Action Plan.

Administer the apprenticeship program, including training registrations, state registration and annual state compliance review.
- Provide administrative/scheduling support for employee/supervisor training as needed.

Support continual compliance with ISO 9001 standards relating to employee training.

Coordinate employee events such as blood drive, flu shot and other employee functions.
- Coordinate Company involvement with local community charities.

Support the Director of HR with projects and other matters.

Assist in employee relations matters as needed.

Respond to employment verifications and assist with employee badging.

Administer employee enrollment and equipment maintenance for the onsite Company fitness center.

Assist with front desk coverage, along with others, in the absence of the Receptionist.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred

3+ years of experience in recruiting and other HR disciplines
- Working knowledge of HRIS software with Paycom experience a plus

SHRM and/or HRCI certifications preferred

Ability to safely go out onto the shop floor as necessary

Familiarity with union contracts
