Wave is looking to hire a highly motivated biologist to join its research team in Cambridge, MA. This is an ideal position for an individual with a background in molecular biology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry who thrives in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and cross-disciplinary biotech environment. The Research Associate is responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments as a member of a team focused on advancing therapeutic programs and discovery research platforms. This individual will contribute to all levels of in vitro and in vivo discovery research to support the development of optimized nucleic acid therapies in multiple disease areas.
Experience
- BS or MS degree in biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, or related scientific discipline with 0-3 years of post-graduate biology research experience in an academic or industry (biotech or pharma) environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute and analyze experiments as a member of a team focused on advancing therapeutic programs and discovery research platforms
- Contribute to all levels of in vitro and in vivo discovery research to support the development of optimized nucleic acid therapies in multiple disease areas.
- Analyze and interpret data from molecular pharmacology studies
- Exemplify outstanding aptitude for experimental design and execution, efficient assay development and creative problem solving
- Write SOP’s and other technical reports as needed
- Prepare clear and accurate reports for internal and external projects
Key Skills
- Knowledge of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics is required
- Experience in cell and molecular biology, including cell culture, transfections, DNA/RNA isolation, qPCR, protein/immunoassays by Western blot or ELISA/MSD, is required
- Prior knowledge of biomarker discovery for drug development is preferred
- Must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic, detail focused and have superior organizational skills
- Ability to function in a timeline-driven, dynamic environment and rapidly adapt to new techniques and protocols
- Must be a committed and proactive team player who is highly productive working in a fluid and fast-paced work environment
