HVACR Project Field Foreman-reporting to the Installation Manager

In this role, you will manage the execution of field work on assigned projects from setting clear expectations as the primary point of contact with the end user, and LCA Account Manager and/or Project Manager on scheduling all field operations, direct labor and all subcontractors and equipment/materials, to start up and successful job completion and turnover on time, within estimate and meeting/exceeding the customer’s expectations.
COMPENSATION: $90,000-$120,000 base salary based on experience plus generous performance bonus
HOURS:6:00 AM -2:00 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage assigned field projects, once sold, from start to finish.
- Perform walkthroughs with salesperson for each job (turnover meeting from Sales to Operations)
- Provide the required field presence (be there or beware) to stay on top of project progress and resolve issues before they escalate. This involves providing clear direction to our installer/subcontractors and keeping the customer informed throughout the job.
- Provide updates for each project to Customer, LCA Construction Ops, Account Manager and Subcontractors
- Become main point of contact for customer once the job is sold and until it is completed.
- Order stock and follow up on all equipment ordered to align with schedule
- Review and upload jobs to Backlog report and track performance (actual labor and material vs estimate)
- Work with Coordinator to schedule the jobs, based on equipment arrival and resurce capacity and keep customer aware throughout.
- Work with service to schedule startup/service issues
- Assist in eliminating waste in the execution of projects to improve morale, efficiency and departmental profitability
- Effectively communicate and coordinate activities between operations, sales, the field and the customer, proactively solve problems and clearly and confidently communicate direction to installers, subcontractors, customer and provide excellent follow-up and follow through to all stakeholders
- Work closely with the field installers, to earn their trust and respect and by observing, listening and resolving impediments to allow them to effectively do their job and in turn improve their efficiency and job satisfaction
- Coordinate with Installation Manager and the field installers to accurately report and measure utilization rate and actual hours vs estimated hours, installation rates and improve performance through better planning, shop preparation, support and field training
- Facilitate the After Action Review(AAR) once job is completed to identify project performance, and apply lessons learned to enhance our processes and procedures
- Recognize, reinforce, and reward ideas from the field that result in labor savings while maintaining safe work standards and installation quality and incorporate these best practices into standard work methods/standard operating procedures.
- Collect, analyze and report on historical performance to improve future estimating and set realistic labor expectations (goals) for installers.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement and focus on 1% better every day by reducing waste
- Produce accurate and timely operating results, performance reporting, time sheets, work tickets and analytics
- Maintain good customer relationships and obtain customer feedback on all projects; what went well and what needs improvement.
- Keep Installation Manager aware of activities and issues on job site
- Assist Installation Manager in manpower loading and reviewing/recommending scheduling changes
- Assist Installation Manager with input to installer’s reviews
- Coordinate with Parts Runner and Warehouse Manager on issuing material and equipment to the job site just in time
- Flexible and able to adapt to the unique requirements of each project requirements and installer personality.
- Flexible and able to work outside of standard working hours, when required by project, rigger, project schedule, or work backlog
- Make sure you conduct yourself in a professional manner: neat, clean, positive and timely
- Responsible for continuously developing personal knowledge, as well as recommending and assisting with career development training for the others in the group.
- Overall, provide professional service and support throughout all field projects such that the customer feels he received good value and will be a repeat customer, while the company eliminates all wasted activities that the customer does not value and maximizes profit
- Works closely with other departments to assure a smooth completion of field projects to warranty stage and then turn over to the service/P.M. phase
Essential Technical Skills:
Requires the understanding of HVACR systems and the ability to read and interpret HVACR mechanical, electrical, and piping specifications and project design prints to determine job scope of work requirements.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years supervising installation crews for a commercial contractor, preferably commercial HVACR contractor.
