You Are:
We are looking for a Software Accessibility Tester Lead who will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all aspects of ensuring accessibility compliance for the Digital eXperience platform. The ideal candidate is hands-on and pro-active in helping the team identify gaps, come up with solution by working with development team and remediate accessibility issues.
The Opportunity:
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing of software applications, web platforms, and mobile apps in accordance with WCAG 2.1 A, AA, and AAA standards.
- Possess a strong understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements.
- Mentor junior testers on accessibility best practices and WCAG guidelines.
- Develop and maintain test plans and strategies specifically designed for accessibility evaluation.
- Utilize a variety of automated accessibility testing tools (e.g., Deque's Axe Devtool, JAWS, WAVE, Level Access etc.) to identify potential accessibility barriers.
- Perform manual testing using assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and screen magnification tools.
- Analyze test results, identify accessibility defects, and document findings in clear and concise reports.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to remediate accessibility issues and ensure a seamless user experience for all.
- Stay up to date on the latest accessibility standards and best practices, including WCAG updates and emerging technologies.
- Advocate for the importance of accessibility within the organization and contribute to a culture of inclusive design.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accessibility policies and procedures.
- Conduct usability testing sessions to identify and address user experience (UX) issues impacting users with disabilities.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
- 5+ years of experience in accessibility testing using WCAG standards.
- Proven expertise in applying WCAG A, AA, and AAA conformance levels for software applications.
- In-depth knowledge of Section 508 compliance rules and regulations.
- Certified Trusted Tester in Section 508.
- Solid understanding of usability testing principles and methodologies.
- Experience with various accessibility testing tools (e.g., Deque's Axe Devtool, JAWS, WAVE, Level Access etc..).
- Experience with manual accessibility testing using assistive technologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in working directly with multiple client representative.
- Experience with open-source accessibility testing tools (e.g., Selenium, aXe).
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Typescripts, JavaScript, Java) for accessibility automation.
- Experience in cloud-based accessibility testing platforms.
- Experience in a healthcare industry vertical
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Remote
Compensation Range: $62,000-$92,000
Our full-time, regular associates are eligible for 401K matching, and vacation accrual and are covered from day 1 for paid sick time, healthcare, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
