Dental Assistant Job Description
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as fabricating temporary crowns
- Manage patient flow, including scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records
- Utilize electronic health record systems (such as Epic) to document patient information accurately
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program
- State-specific dental assistant certification or licensure (if required)
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry techniques and procedures is preferred
- Proficiency in dental coding and documentation
- Familiarity with computer-assisted design (CAD) software for creating dental restorations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
