Awake Night Direct Care Worker
About Embracing Destiny Foundation:
Embracing Destiny Foundation has been established since 2006. We provide daily living services for adolescent youth between the ages of 7 and 17. We address behavior issues with a variety of counselling and therapy services with the goal of transitioning our youth to less restrictive environments.
Job Responsibilities:
The Awake Night Direct Care Worker is responsible for but not limited to:
- Supervising and monitoring assigned residents.
- Acts as a role model, tutor and leader.
- Assist in all necessary preparation for the residents throughout the week and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility is maintained.
- Document daily progress and significant incidents involving residents.
- Ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete before shift exchange.
- Reporting all serious incidents to appropriate staff within the time frame as set forth by the licensing minimum standards requirements.
- Address inappropriate behavior of residents and administer appropriate disciplinary restrictions.
- Attend hosted training classes to acquire (50) in-service training hours annually in childcare services, excluding first aide and orientation. (Training is paid for by the organization on the day it is scheduled)
- Acquire the required training hours at own expense and provide evidence of the training by certificate from creditable and verifiable source if unable to attend the paid and scheduled training by the organization.
- Familiarizes themselves with the case history of each resident.
- Follow daily schedule as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures as set forth by the agency.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age per company policy
- Able to function in a high energy environment
- Able to work with children with behavior, emotional and/or physical disabilities
- Able to pass a FBI Background check for D.F.P.S.
- Reimbursement of cost after 90 days of employment
- Able to provide T.B. Skin/Blood Test (Negative results)
- Able to pass a Drug Test
- *Company Funded at designated location
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Copy must be provided prior to employment
- 6 months experience in the field is preferred but not required
Shifts:
10 pm - 6 am
4 am - 9 am (Mon-Fri, During School)
