Description: The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for providing the education and care of a classroom of students as part of a teaching team. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum and aesthetically pleasing classroom.
- Teach using Multiple Intelligences approach.
- Integrate curriculum with Project Approach.
- Provide supportive, challenging, and enthusiastic guidance.
- Utilize positive behavior management techniques.
- Practice effective communication with children.
- Extend learning outdoors with Discovery Play Garden.
- Incorporate cultural diversity and Character Counts!.
- Integrate age-appropriate technology.
- Ensure a healthy, safe environment following guidelines.
- Conduct informative parent-teacher conferences.
- Host Curriculum Open Houses.
- Implement excellent customer service practices.
- Display children's work aesthetically and document appropriately.
- Promote healthy eating through nutritious meals program.
- Maintain professional conduct and image.
- Support school's philosophy and objectives.
- Accept constructive direction for job improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 19 years old.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or related field.
- Experience in licensed daycare.
- Meet state-specific requirements.
- CPR or First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong work ethic.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education and technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to multitask.
- Current physical examination and TB skin test.
- Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
