Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
– Conducts SBIRT ( AUDIT/CUDIT) screenings of students in partnership with LAGCC Student Supports Directors
– Facilitation and/or co-facilitation of identified prevention intervention ( BASICS, Triple P, Education workshops)
– Supervise and supports Prevention Peer Mentors
– In collaboration with LAGCC, conducts outreach tabling on campus to promote open, engaging and healthy conversation around underage alcohol/cannabis use and adult misuse.
– Conduct community drug education forums and assist in needs assessment data collection focused on underage alcohol/cannabis use or adult misuse.
– Facilitates other pro-social and recreational activities.
– in partnership with LAGCC , coordinates LAGCC campus community activities.
– Responsible for timely and accurate record keeping.
– Liaison between referral sources.
– Participates in team meetings for the development of work plans.
– Participates in staff meetings.
– Attends ongoing training for skill development ( SBIRT, Motivational Interviewing, Narcan, SAPST, Learning Thursday OASAS and all other relevant alcohol/cannabis use prevention education)
– May be required to work evenings and weekends.

Education and/or Experience:
– Pursuing degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social work, Public Health or other related degree and knowledge of substance use disorders, risk and protective factors
– At least 1 yr experience in group facilitation, public speaking, working with young adults
– Must have computer skills.
– Experience in facilitating groups with youth and adults
– Must successfully complete a criminal background check
– Bilingual Spanish is required/highly preferred
