The Senior Counselor/Case Manager is responsible for the overall implementation, assessment, and administration of quality clinical and casework services at a community based facility serving adult probationers with a history of criminal behavior and addiction.
Typical job duties include:
- Ensure that all casework services are consistent with the operating policies of the Office of Community Corrections and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure that a copy of all intake materials is placed in client files following intake to the Center; including copies to the appropriate supervising agency (e.g. Probation, Parole, DOC, Sheriffs Department).
- Complete client intake assessment; perform assessment tools and develop treatment plan for each assigned client.
- Ensure that the treatment plan is reviewed monthly.
- Complete weekly Treatment Progress notes on assigned residents.
- Facilitate groups and/or classes (as assigned).
- Make necessary referrals to outside agencies or departments as needed.
- Create an after care / discharge plan for each client assigned.
- Participate in weekly Clinical and Multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Keep client data and information updated in the system (Client Information Management System).
- Assign and track completion of CBIs (Client Behavioral Interventions) as needed.
Education and experience requirements:
- Bachelors degree required and 2 years supervised counseling experience (MA preferred)
- Experience with CBT and MRT curricula preferred
- Previous management strongly preferred
- Good oral and written presentation skills
- Experience working with adults, at-risk populations, or offenders is helpful
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point
Work Remotely
There are 18 Community Justice Support Centers (CJSC) across the state with 10 managed by the Old Colony YMCA. Participants attend CJSC to participate in programs designed to improve their lives and avoid further criminal justice involvement. Each CJSC offers about 15 different programs, including cognitive behavioral treatment for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and to improve decision making, employment counseling, and Adult Basic Education, GED/HiSET, and post-secondary preparation.
