Position Overview

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and driven independent sales representative, in the building product industry, to drive company sales by persuading customers to purchase our high-end customer millwork products. The independent sales representative’s responsibilities include managing architect, custom home builder and building products dealer and distributor relationships, identifying networking opportunities, answering customers' questions, and finding new customers through cold calling, emailing, and social media advertising. You should also be able to implement effective sales strategies to continually meet or exceed sales quotas. This role is ideal for someone who is goal-oriented, enjoys managing their own client base, and can meet deadlines.
As an Independent Sales Representative, you should have excellent communication and presentation skills. Also, you should be detail-oriented and a highly motivated individual. Your ability to manage deadlines and work in a competitive environment will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:
- Demonstrated success in independent sales roles, displaying a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with operating as an independent sales professional.
- Set and strive to exceed sales targets, utilizing effective sales techniques and adapting strategies to meet changing market dynamics.
- Addressing customer concerns and resolving complaints. Identify and engage potential clients through effective prospecting strategies, networking, and market research.
- Identifying potential customers through networking and following leads.
- Arranging meetings with potential and existing customers to present company products.
- Deliver compelling presentations to showcase products or services, emphasizing key features and benefits to prospective clients. It would be good to have the person do a sample presentation for us.
- In-depth knowledge of the products or services being represented, allowing for a thorough understanding of client needs and effective communication.
- Persuading customers to purchase company products by highlighting product benefits and key features.
- Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular communication, addressing inquiries, and providing ongoing support.
- Employ strong negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial agreements and successfully close sales deals.
- Work closely with internal teams, such as marketing and product development, to align strategies and ensure effective client support.
- Generate regular sales reports, offering insights and feedback to contribute to continuous improvement in sales strategies and processes.
- The ability to adapt to changing market dynamics, client needs, and product offerings, ensuring a flexible approach to sales strategies.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to provide informed insights to client.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Certified sales professional (CSP) certification is advantageous.
- 3-5 years sales experience and demonstrated success in selling architectural millwork (doors, trim, molding) is strongly preferred.
- Self-starting attitude and personal initiative
- Ability to travel to meet with customers.
- High-energy and goal-oriented personality
