Job Summary:
We are seeking an X-Ray Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and empathic while providing patient care. They will be responsible for performing clinical diagnostic imaging examinations on patients using X-ray equipment. The X-Ray Technologist will establish a positive rapport with patients, ensuring they are comfortable and safe. This candidate will be committed to obtaining optimal imaging that will be used for medical interpretation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for X-Ray and ensure their understanding of the process
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images
- Operate X-Ray equipment accurately and safely
- Monitor patients during diagnostic procedures and address any concerns or discomfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure the best practice for patient care
- Maintain working knowledge in the use of PACS, DR and Radiologic equipment
- Maintain Radiology rooms and stock necessary supplies
- Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body, requested by physician
- Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff
- Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program
- ARRT certification in Radiography
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Strong knowledge of X-Ray equipment operation and safety procedures
- BLS/CPR certified
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and patient care
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move patients as needed
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
