Wood is currently recruiting for a Piping Design Lead - Piping Engineering Designer IV for a Smart Plant (S3D) Onshore Project in our Houston, TX Office.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.
Piping Design Lead the following primary duties & responsibilities:
- Functions in a primary design or design lead role with overall responsibility for discipline execution, maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the discipline project scope of work.
- Lead design effort on assigned projects.
- Attend project meetings
- Assign specific design tasks to discipline design team
- Monitor production levels and perform checking activities
- Accountable for delivery, production levels, consistency and overall quality of work
- To provide support to a project in all aspects of piping design and layout
- Track deliverable status, model progress, studies, co-ordination and any other design tasks not tied directly to deliverables.
- Attend project model review meetings
- Manages Deliverables issue and transmittal record
Special Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to discipline design team
- Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
- Proficient with appropriate department software tools.
- Complete understanding of proper drawing organization and production
- Complete knowledge of department design and drafting standards and procedures.
- Strong ethical standards. High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative.
- Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and is dependable.
- Accountable for results.
- Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects.
- Team player that works well with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients.
Has some S3D software experience to do:
- Equipment modeling
- Piping design modeling
- Pipe support modeling
- Pipe routing for Onshore facilities
Physical requirements:
