GREAT NEWS! OLIVERO LAW IS HIRING!
FAMILY LAW SUPERSTAR LAWYER
About the job
Who we are:
Olivero Law is hiring! Our owner, Shiobhan Olivero, is a former public defender, zealous criminal defense and divorce lawyer, and all-around courtroom female phenom. She envisions creating a first-class team of happy, highly skilled lawyers who work together to help families in crisis navigate the murky legal waters. Our growing Florida law firm serves families across the state with a focus on the greater Tampa Bay and mid-Central Florida area.
Here’s what our attorneys do:
* We wear many hats – we’re people people, legal strategists, staunch client advocates, courtroom masters, connected networkers, sometime baristas, and every-once-in-awhile janitors.
* We’re professional. We promptly answer calls and emails, hit deadlines and provide a high quality work product. (If you can’t do this, please don’t lie to yourself or us and just don’t apply).
* We believe in service. To our communities. To our clients. To our team. We give without expectation. We practice compassion, integrity, and act for the highest and best good of as many human beings as possible.
* Personal and professional development are our lifestyle. We’re not talking CLEs. We’re talking coaching, personal growth, professional growth, and always striving to make ourselves better. (If you are not growing, you’re dying - cliche but true. That’s what makes it a cliche).
Who we’re looking for:
We have in mind someone who:
- Is super-smart, learns quickly, and doesn’t need to be told twice;
- Knows his or her “why” when it comes to serving families in crisis;
- Wants to assist with building a kick-a$$ family law firm practice from the first floor up (not the ground floor . . see how we did that?);
- Is barred in the state of Florida;
- Lives for change but looks for opportunities to create consistency for those who need it (an oxymoron? Yes. But if this is you, you get it);
- Is excited about connecting with referral partners, attending networking events, and marketing family law services (Wow. That sounds boring. But it’s not.);
- Has 3+ years of legal experience under their belt at a family law firm;
- Is comfortable working in a brick-and-mortar office or virtually (we’re a hybrid outfit these days);
- Values being treated as an equal, doesn't need a lot of supervision to actually show up, get the work done, and hit goals; is able to communicate with clients, the team, and supervisors, and the owner; and is able to give us feedback and pushback on places where you see we can improve as a team and as a firm.
- Aspires to be a ballroom dancer, walks in the rain without shoes or an umbrella, or plays “keytar” in an ‘80s band – it doesn’t matter what; just a sense of play and individuality;
- Above all, lives for something deeper than work (think family, friends, purpose, fun – anything but work – or the keytar– no offense to Devo). We want you to have goals and we want to help you meet them.
Compensation
Traditional lawyer compensation is boring. We’re seeking entrepreneurial lawyers who enjoy a bit of risk and reward. Our approach to billing is straightforward: your base pay is predicated on the value you bring to the firm initially. After that, we pay quarterly discretionary bonuses based on targets that include collections, firm procedure development, and new business that you generate. As long as you’re getting things done and meeting deadlines, you set your schedule (unless the court says otherwise or the team needs to see your shining face).
We also offer “perks” that reflect our values, and we want them to reflect yours, too. Want an annual trip with your team to sample the finest sushi, hike the Appalachian trail, or swim with sharks? A “personal enrichment” allowance to pursue the non-legal stuff that makes your heart beat (think saxophone lessons, scuba certification, or a book club)? Have any other thoughts? We’d love to hear them. Maybe we can make this happen.
