POSITION SUMMARY
Creates new and manages existing relationships with Registered Investment Advisors, Wirehouses, and Independent Broker-Dealers to generate required production/sales revenue from firm’s investment products. Develops tactical plans and completes complex assignments with substantial latitude to sell financial products and generate revenue within assigned Northeast territory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work to increase sales and market share within an assigned territory by developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with advisors within the Registered Investment Advisor, Wirehouse, and Independent Broker-Dealer Channels.
- Conduct the following programs to develop relationships and raise capital for Griffin sponsored offerings: in-person and virtual meetings with advisors in the territory, conducting client seminars, attending broker-dealer conferences and annual meetings, relationship building with sales management at key firms.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of existing/targeted firms/institutions including targeted market segments, how they operate, and/or value proposition(s) to foster meaningful sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on creation and distribution of relevant marketing materials for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provide direction for outbound sales call campaigns and strategic territory coverage to internal sales team.
- Work in coordination with internal Sales Strategy Specialist and others on the sales team to identify and foster leads generated from referrals, ad campaigns and territory canvassing.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues of a complex nature with key representative firms.
- Maintain high activity levels of face-to-face meetings requiring multiple days per week in the field.
- Assists with developing and implementing business plans for the territory to attain stated sales goals.
- Strategically plan and manage the deployment of resources to maximize territory sales while being responsible for budgeting and expenses.
- Maintains sales call data in CRM and/or complete sales reports as directed by sales management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant Work Experience: Five or more years relevant wholesaling experience. Interest and/or experience in the alternative investment space in the Wirehouse, RIA, and independent Broker-Dealer channels preferred. Must have an in-depth knowledge of fund products, financial markets and competitive landscape; product performance and investment management philosophy.
- Sales Skills: Strong sales abilities are required, evidenced by a track record of developing relationships and increasing new business. Must be able to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with all organizational levels to accomplish objectives and convince others to accept ideas or goals.
- Certifications: FINRA Series 7 and FINRA Series 63 are required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of the financial services and investment vehicles similar to Griffin Capital’s offerings. Strong existing relationships with sales, business, product and research professionals among industry firms.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The base salary for this exempt full-time position is $125,000 base salary + commissions + benefits.
The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. This posted salary range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
