This opening is in PRESCOTT, ARIZONA - The Mobile Fueler / Service Technician (Oiler) performs many maintenance tasks on heavy trucks and earth moving equipment including: mechanical repair, lubrication, oil changes, troubleshooting, minor diagnosis, repairs and maintenance. The equipment may include but is not limited to Mack Trucks, motor graders, dozers, excavators, loaders, rollers and paving equipment.
Travel in the company provided vehicle is required and overtime is common for this mobile Fueler/Oiler position. You'll typically start your week in Prescott to stock your truck with all the necessary parts and filters for the work to be done. Base wages are dependent upon experience. Pay rates when working in the Prescott area (no travel) range between $25.30 to $32.95 per hour. When on the road, wages will range from $32.30 to $38.00 per hour. When in overtime and traveling, your pay range is between $44.95 and $57.43 per hour! Federal jobs may even be higher.
Mobile Fueler (or Service Technician) positions will include some aspects of a Heavy Equipment Operator and Heavy Equipment Mechanic as you must understand the basics of operating the machinery you service, repair and/or maintain. Training is available for the right candidate however, a Class "A" CDL license with hazmat and tank endorsement is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Arizona Class A CDL license with TANK and HAZMAT endorsements
- Must be a safety-minded and self-motivated as you will often work unsupervised
- Must have a clean 5-year MVR as you will be assigned a company fuel/service/lube truck
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1-year experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or operator
- Must be able to drive a large 6-wheel fuel truck with no transmission restrictions
- Must have your own tools
- Statewide travel in Arizona (subsistence pay typically available)
- Working alone at night and on weekends may be common
