About This Role:
This position will be part of the Addressing and Map Services Team within the Geospatial Technology Services Program of the Department of Information Technology. This team is responsible for providing addressing services to include assigning, validating, managing, and maintaining addresses of every parcel and premise in Prince William County. In addition, the team is tasked with performing geospatial plan review of land and building plans, manages, and maintains GIS data, completes updates to existing thematic maps, fulfills ad hoc mapping and spatial analysis requests, and provides resolutions to complex addressing and land use issues. As the primary point of contact regarding GIS products and data for the public and other county agencies, the team prioritizes providing high quality customer service.
In this role, you will support the team as a multi-utility team player using your GIS knowledge and ArcGIS software competencies to manage, maintain, and update GIS data, and some operational tasks such as geospatial plan review and address assignment. You will provide customer assistance to the public and other agencies on geospatial research, data requests, and address validation. Opportunities to grow your skills through ad hoc map projects, spatial analysis, and automation or scripting are also available. This role will actively engage with other teams within the Geospatial Technology Services Program on cross functional team projects or represent our team with other county departments and agencies project.
The successful candidate should have a strong attention to detail and possess the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at once. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must as interaction with colleagues from our program, other departments, as well as the public, are a key responsibility of this position.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and five years of GIS professional experience.
Preferences:
Successful candidates will have…

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geography, GIS, or a related field

At least 2 years of professional experience using ESRI ArcGIS software suite

2 or more years of customer service experience

Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and several extensions, as well as ArcGIS Online

Work Schedule:
This position is classified as exempt with the expectation that the candidate will complete duties within the time frame required. Standard workweek is 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. After hours and weekend work are occasionally necessary to provide services that cannot be performed during normal business hours.
This is a telework eligible position that includes some in-office scheduling. This is subject to change based on the needs of the program and organization.
Hiring Salary Range:
$70,921.50 - $97,968.00 Annually
