Night Auditor
Reports to Director of Finance
(a dotted line to Reservations and Revenue Strategist)
Key Goals & Objectives
· Responsible for the accuracy of the daily front office accounting records
· Summarize and compile information for the hotel’s financial records, track room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics
· Prepare a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities to reflect the hotel’s daily financial performance
· Post room charges and room taxes to guest folios/accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day
- Protect the integrity and assets of the property by maintaining a positive and professional partnership with our guests, employees, and owners.
General Responsibilities
· Post room charges and taxes to guest folios/accounts
· Process guest charges voucher and credit card vouchers
· Cross reference room status and in-house guests lists are accurate to avoid discrepancies
· Post and verifycharges to guest folios/accounts that have not been posted or were incurred on the night audit shift
· Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts
· Check to see that all charges are assigned to the appropriate departments
· Verify that all transactions performed at the front desk are supported by documentary evidence and signatures as necessary and that they have been correctly posted and allocated in to PMS system
· Perform daily inventory of available rooms for last minute reservations
· Verify that all charges posted from the POS software from any outlets used by the guests have reached the correct guest folios and also not missing
· Prepare registration cards for next business day
· Verify that room rates are correct
· Track room revenues, occupancy percentages, and any other front office statistics required by the Reservations and Revenue Strategist
· Prepare a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities
· Summarize results of operations for management
· Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy, including but not limited to recording, storing, accessing and/or analyzing computerized financial information
· Prepare end of day report/procedure/follow up
· Follow the End of Day/Night Audit Checklist (prepared by Director of Accounting and Reservations and Revenue Strategist)
· Perform Manager on Duty responsibilities and act professionally during any emergency
· Balance the day’s charges and make corrections as necessary
· Perform wake-up calls per request
· Run end of day process in PMS as requested by Reservations and Revenue Strategist
· Respond to guest needs, special requests and complaints immediately, and alert the Manager on Duty or Supervisor as needed
· Perform nightly balancing of in-room video, and long-distance telephone services
Requirements and Experiences
- High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum one year of front desk supervisory role
- Experience in handling cash, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
