The Warehouse Loader moves stacked and palletized products in a safe and efficient manner onto truck trailers in preparation for transport to customers. The employee locates all work orders and batches for a load in up to three different environments (dry or ambient, cold, freezer). Once products are located, the Loader plans truck loading, taking into consideration the load weight, size, temperature compartments, truck space and area. Products are then “married” onto pallets. This includes combining loads, re-stacking and re-palletizing products and wrapping the pallets. Trucks are then loaded using power jacks.

This includes combining loads, re-stacking and re-palletizing products and wrapping the pallets. Trucks are then loaded using power jacks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Re-stack, organize, “marry” and palletize products in preparation for loading trailers
- Operate power jacks and forklifts to maneuver products to load trailers.
- Inspect product packaging for transport.
- Apply knowledge of truck weight distribution and capabilities to plan, organize and efficiently load trailers.
- Handle manual wrap wand to wrap pallets prior to loading.
- Operate machine wrap to prepare the pallet for transport by securing products in pallet wrap.
- Perform pre-trip safety checks on all equipment.
- Manually record loads onto schematic.
- Follow temperature sensitive protocols when transporting and loading products and prioritizing workflow
- Secure shipments using load bars, straps, and bulkheads.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Change power jack battery.
- Inspect inside of trailer for damage.
- Remove debris and sweep inside trailer.
- Maintain clean work environment which may include picking up trash or cleaning spills.
- Other duties may be assigned to fulfill KeHE’s objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The employee must have proficient knowledge of English and basic math skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience as a certified powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred. Employees must be able to be certified for PIT operation.
Work Environment: The work environment is indoors. The employee may be exposed to variable temperatures from the three different product climates (dry, cold, freezer). The floors may be concrete in the warehouse areas. The employee may be exposed to exhaust fumes from trucks when working in colder climates as the trucks may need to be running during the loading process.
Work Hours: The work schedule is either 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, or 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays, or weekends.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. The associate is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate to high.
