JOB SUMMARY
A Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the collection of overdue accounts, ensuring the timely receipt of payments, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role involves strategizing and implementing effective collection processes, leading a team of collections agents, and coordinating with other departments to resolve outstanding issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Director of Sales Operations and Accounting Department with Daily Collections efforts

Develop and execute collections strategies to minimize bad debt.

Establish and monitor the effectiveness of collection policies and procedures.

Initiate contact with clients or customers via phone, email, or mail to collect outstanding debts.

Negotiate payment plans and settlements with debtors to recover outstanding amounts.

Maintain consistent follow-up communications to ensure debtors adhere to agreed-upon payment plans.

Coordinate with Legal Department on issues related to delinquent accounts.

Investigate and reconcile accounting discrepancies.

Generate regular reports on collection activities, outstanding debts, and progress toward targets and goals.

Maintaining accurate records, databases, and filing systems. This includes inputting data, updating information, and ensuring that files are organized and easily accessible.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

Basic knowledge in Accounting Principles and financial management particularly Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)

Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred, but not required.

Odoo Experience or other financial management software proficiency preferred, but not required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred but not required.

Applicants with relevant experience in a similar role are also encouraged to apply.

Cannabis industry experience preferred, but not required.

Salesforce experience preferred, but not required.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Able to create, maintain, and build professional relationships and rapport with customers and colleagues.
REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age.
