The Evaluator will conduct Vocational Evaluations with disabled clients via Zoom from their home office. The Evaluator position is a virtual work-from-home position, but candidates must be located in the state of California. Upon successful completion of becoming a Vocational Evaluator, the candidate will then automatically be enrolled in training to become a Vocational Expert for the consulting firm. You will be working with a highly skilled Vocational Expert as your mentor to train you to write Vocational Opinion Reports.
Essential Job Duties include, but not limited to:
- Prior to evaluation, review the medical file or case summary when available in order to gain a broad understanding of the client and their disability.
- Provide kind, empathetic, and well-mannered treatment to all disabled clients.
- Conduct a thorough Vocational Evaluation of disabled clients, asking all questions on intake provided to you as well as additional questions you may deem necessary to clarify information obtained from the disabled clients.
- Administer standardized aptitude tests during evaluation.
- Maintain consistent contact via Slack and telephone with main office during evaluation.
- Save Evaluation form to shared Box folder and case management system immediately upon completion of Evaluation.
- Input your time onto case management system.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during evaluations with Injured Workers and interpreters.
- Work with various members of staff to update intake form and provide feedback as needed.
- Work directly with Vocational Expert/CEO of company to complete training to become a Vocational Expert.
- Write and sign Vocational Opinion Reports.
- Work with ParaVocational Experts to assist you in typing up your opinion on Vocational Opinion Reports.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, trials on your assigned cases as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling (or related field) required
- National certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and/or Certified
- Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) preferred
- 3 – 5 years conducting vocational evaluations of disabled individuals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid analytical skills
- Extremely detail oriented
- Computer literate as you will be conducting evaluations via Zoom on your computer
- Able to utilize Zoom proficiently
