Mountain Spring Vascular has an exciting opportunity to join our team! This is a newly- created, full-time position for the right person who is looking to use their skills with a patient focused and growing medical group.
Job Summary
The medical assistant will support the provider by providing caring, personalized, and efficient handling of patients, medical records, and supply management. In addition, provides appropriate feedback to the medical team, follow-up information to patients and correctly input data as required. The medical assistant maintains all the required certifications and skills necessary to function within the scope of their job duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring to inquiries.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and exam room utilization by efficiently scheduling appointments.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to the appointment; reminding patients of their appointment the day before; registering and checking in patients in a timely manner; preparing necessary documents for the visit; notifying provider of patients’ late arrival; rescheduling or moving late arriving patients when necessary.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information per HIPAA regulations.
- Accompany patient to exam/procedure room.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Check vital signs.
- Check the schedule and organize patient flow.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Ensure that all treatment rooms are cleaned and stocked at the end of the workday.
- Assist providers in preparing the patient and the facilities for procedures.
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including equipment sterilization.
- Assist with scheduling of patient's tests and treatments.
- Encourages patient compliance with preventative care by reaching out to patients and reminding them when they are due for preventive exams and screenings.
- Performs all other duties as trained and requested by provider and/or management.
Candidates must have:
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, peers, and management. Ability to communicate with proper etiquette.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task, while being attentive to patients and remaining flexible to the needs of the business. Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to follow up on leads, schedule consultations, obtain patient consent for treatment and manage time management skills.
- Other Skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service. Need to be reliable and outgoing, detail-oriented problem solver with exceptional customer service skills. Will exhibit high attention to detail, dexterity, and hand/eye coordination. Must be punctual and can prioritize and multitask.
Additional Requirements
Required:
· At least 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant.
· Highschool graduate or equivalent
· Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred:
· Experience working in Vascular healthcare.
· Certified Medical Assistant.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
