JOB PURPOSE
To provide exceptional and safe passenger transportation.
Must have a safe work performance and job history.
Must be able to provide on-time passenger pickup and drop off
Must have excellent customer service skills
Must possess a professional appearance and demeanor
Must have reliable transportation and attendance
Training certifications including CPR are a plus
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Conduct pre and post trip inspections to ensure proper operating conditions of vehicle and on-board equipment
2. Successfully perform scheduled manifest by picking up all clients on time and delivering them to their destination safely and within a reasonable time frame.
3. Must be able to multi-load wheelchairs
4. Ensure the safety of all passengers by using appropriate on-board restraints.
5. Ensure safe and clean vehicle condition at the start and end of each shift.
6. Communicate effectively with dispatch or office personnel
7. Adjust to variables in normal working conditions, including adverse weather, traffic and construction, passenger problems, accidents and trip changes.
8. Provide excellent customer service including assistance in boarding and unboarding, supplying information as needed and responding appropriately in the event of an emergency.
9. Diffuse difficult situations and maintain order onboard vehicles.
10. Offer door THROUGH door service 100% of the time
11. Employ all techniques of defensive driving to minimize the risk of preventable and non-preventable accidents and/or passenger injuries.
12. Maintain at all times a professional appearance and demeanor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: high School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Previous professional driving experience is preferred but not required.
Previous customer service experience, experience working with persons with disabilities and/or senior citizens preferred but not required.
Safe driving record and clean criminal background
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Able to read, write and speak the English language clearly
2. Ability to navigate the service area through your phone's GPS
3. Ability to communicate effectively with passengers or passengers representatives
4. Ability to remain calm in emergency situations and ensure the safety of all passengers
5. This driving position requires long periods of sitting, assisting passengers on and off vehicles, loading, unloading and securing wheelchairs and the ability to lift 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
