The Pizza Station, within Tumblesalts, is a casual dining room, bar, and patio with a pizza-focused menu. Must have experience in all functions of front of house, willing to work inside and outside, walk throughout the shift and use stairs. Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to join our team at Tumblesalts Cafe, a renowned dining establishment known for its exceptional hospitality and culinary excellence. The Shift Leader will serve as a key member of our front-of-house team, responsible for ensuring seamless operations and delivering unparalleled service to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, providing exemplary customer service to guests and inspiring team members to uphold the highest standards of hospitality.
- Oversee the daily operations of the bar and dining room, including managing reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow to optimize service efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and supervise front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bussers, to ensure consistency in service quality and adherence to restaurant policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to facilitate smooth communication and collaboration between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Monitor dining room activity to anticipate guest needs, resolve any issues or complaints promptly, and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests.
- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring dining supplies, restocking essentials, and coordinating with management to order necessary supplies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and ambiance of the dining area, overseeing table setups, lighting, and décor to create an inviting atmosphere for guests.
- Handle guest reservations, special requests, and VIP arrangements with attention to detail and personalized service.
- Collaborate with management to implement initiatives aimed at enhancing guest satisfaction, improving service efficiency, and driving overall revenue growth.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and sanitation practices, to maintain a safe and hygienic dining environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a high-volume restaurant environment, preferably in a fine dining or upscale casual setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to deliver exceptional service under pressure.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on guest satisfaction and conflict resolution. Excellent phone skills.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette, food and beverage offerings, and service standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and remain calm under challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, open and close as required.
- Proficiency in restaurant POS systems and basic computer skills.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- A passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
- Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Honest and clean.
