Preston Taylor Ministries (PTM) is a Christian-based non-profit organization that exists to provide safe and fun neighborhood programming for kids to learn and grow. Programs include after school tutoring, summer field trips, seasonal sports, one-on-one mentoring, Bible studies, camps, and more. These programs for kids are supported by PTM staff, community and parent volunteers, and generous donors that support the work of PTM. PTM empowers our kids to discover and live their God-inspired dreams, develop a love for learning, and build joy-filled friendships that glorify Christ Jesus. The Middle School Reading Teacher will be responsible for motivating, monitoring and managing book clubs and/or independent student reading.
The Middle School Reading Teacher will see 3-4 groups each day. Fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and multi-syllabic word recognition will be taught within the reading block. All teachers will undergo mandatory training prior to facilitating the curriculum. The Middle School Reading Teacher will seek to incorporate PTM’s Christ-centered mission to experience “joy-filled friendships” and to pursue their “God inspired dreams” into their curriculum. Reading Teachers may assist with parts of daily programming and work in collaboration with the Site Coordinator. All employees at PTM should represent the organization well to children and their families, volunteers, supporters, and the community.
