Position: Corporate Controller and Supervisor of the Accounting Department
Reports to: Head of Finance & Accounting
Direct reports: AP, AR, General Accounting
Office Location: Chicago (Downtown). Ability to work remotely 2 days per week
A Monroe Capital portfolio company is embarking on a period of great transition and growth driven by increased productivity and new service offerings. To aid in that growth, we are seeking a self-directed and experienced Corporate Controller to oversee all day-to-day accounting activities. This is a hands-on position reporting to the Head of Finance & Accounting. This high-profile opportunity is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-moving, growing workplace, has strong leadership skills, is proficient in accounting and analysis and is experienced in working closely with senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage the accounting staff (AP, AR, and financial reporting functions)

Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

Monitor the financial performance of the company and contribute to forecast efforts to call out risks and challenges before they become critical

Drive process improvement though the department and the company

Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic and financial plans

Prepare monthly and annual operating plans

Develop and manage financial controls to safeguard the company’s assets

Communicate financial metrics and KPIs to senior management

Manage the annual audit and tax return preparation process

Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required

8+ years of relevant experience required, preferably including both public accounting and corporate experience

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and Big 4 accounting experience is preferred

Experience working in a Private Equity sponsored company

Experience working with ERP systems required, NetSuite a plus

Previous experience managing and directing teams
