Grassroots has an opening for Registered Nurse, FT (overnight shift) is responsible for planning, support and medical/nursing care to individuals admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Program. Seeking RNs for patient care.
The shift for this position is Wednesday - Friday 7:00pm – 7:00am.
Qualified candidates for this position must have:
- Active, unrestricted license as Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse at the bachelor’s degree or associate degree level.
- For BSN: At least 3 years’ experience working with individuals with psychiatric issues.
- RN or LPN with associate degree: At least 5 years’ experience working with individuals with psychiatric issues.
- Preferred experience working with individuals with mental health issues and substance use disorders.
- Preferred experience in community setting.
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Admits patients to Crisis Stabilization Program and completes necessary documentation.
- Assesses, plans, and provides nursing care to patients.
- Consults with other behavioral health staff in creating appropriate treatment plans for clients.
- Contacts the prescriber on-call to arrange for prescribing of medication and consult about medical issues.
- Arranges further medical attention when necessary.
- Completes COWS/CIWA and vital sign checks with patients in CSP, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
- Provides health education and chronic disease management.
- Administers medications prescribed by CSP prescriber.
- Other duties as assigned, required or needed.
Agency-wide Responsibilities
- Participates in supervision, in-service training, and staff meetings.
- Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and positively contributes to group morale.
- Completes all administrative duties including time sheets, leave requests, etc.
- Participates in special task forces, committees, or special projects as needed.
- Uses appropriate channels of communication to resolve conflicts with other staff.
- Interacts with staff, clients, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

Work Conditions include:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Must be willing to use own vehicle for company-related transportation, attending community meetings, and occasionally giving rides to clients if needed.
