The Human Resources specialist oversees and improves the operational functions of the HR department. They are responsible for tasks such as developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance, supporting talent acquisition, managing onboarding and offboarding, completing HRIS transactions, managing and auditing files, running reports, analyzing HR data, and serving as the first point of contact for general employee inquiries. The Human Resource Specialist reports to the VP of HR.
Responsibilities:

Drive the new hire on-boarding activities to assure a smooth transition to the organization and assist HR team with recruiting process as needed.

Manage the exit interview process and offboarding process, including identifying trends. Works with HR management on employee actions.

Create, maintain, and manage physical and electronic employee records, including personnel files, I-9 folders, and theHRIS database. May also collect and analyze HR data and make recommendations based on trends and findings.

Complete HR transactions in our HRIS database and IT Ticket System (new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, department changes, etc.).

Own the annual updating of US Handbook and HR policies. Interprets policies, updates policies as needed, and ensures compliance with all polices, company processes, and state/federal employment laws.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and handle audits and inspections.

Evaluate and improve HR operations workflows, processes, and practices.

Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis from the HRIS database as needed.

Work with HR leadership on varies programs, including training and development, performance management, and employee engagement activities.

Monitor the HR inbox and respond to general employee questions about policies, procedures and programs. Inform HR management about trends and issues and works with HR management on complex questions.

Assist HR management with employee relations issues and with the preparation of material and evidence for Tangoe. May participate in investigations.

Work with HR management as assigned on specific HRBP activities.

Assist HR management with US employee communications and compliance initiatives.

General administrative and clerical duties including: scanning files, mail, filing various legal and HR documents, assisting with shipments & deliveries of documents, etc. via Fed Ex, etc.

Provide guidance to the business and HR leaders regarding day to day concerns (i.e. employee attendance, performance, etc.), Leaves of Absence questions, HRIS Systems changes, etc..

Point of contact for outside vendors, employment verification, and escalated unemployment claims.

Lead specific US HR projects and work with global HR team on various HR projects.

Provide support and as needed, back-up to HR function as needed.

Duties and responsibilities may be added, removed, or changed to meet the needs of the department.
Who you are:
-
1-3 years of HR experience in a mid-size company.

Working knowledge of basic HR laws and applications and a strong grasp of federal & state employment laws.

Solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail, organization, follow through and time management skills.

Ability to multi-task and adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
-
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and an HR Information System. ADP experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
