Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Transcribes orders to profiles for check by pharmacists.
2. Runs prescriptions using barcode system.
3. Communicates questions or problems with facility staff, physicians, and pharmacists, documenting discrepancies in orders.
4. Uses fax server system.
5. Maintains fax machines.
6. Maintains accurate error/complaint logs.
7. Maintains accurate customer files, which include birth date, active medications and drug allergies.
8. Forwards IV orders to RNs.
9. Organizes one's available time to meet deadlines/quotas.
10. Provides other departments with needed information (Billing, MAR, Packers).
11. Performs other duties as requested.
12. Maintains neat and clean personal appearance.
13. Maintains neat and clean work area.
14. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient and company information.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience/Knowledge:
* Prior experience as Pharmacy Technician desirable
* Strong typing ability (45-55 wpm)
* High degree of accuracy for detail work
* Ability to adapt to new situations
* Clerical skills (filing, office machines, etc.)
* Ability to organize one's own work
* Reliability and honesty
Physical Requirements:
In an 8 hour day the employee
A. May lift/carry 0-10 lbs occasionally
B. Stands/walks 5% of the time
C. Sits 95% of the time
D. Drives a car/truck 0% of the time
