Hours: Full time (40 hours) No weekends, no evenings, no holidays.
Pay will be determined by Pharmacy Technician experience.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties to include:
I. Non-Sterile Compounding
a. Mixing and compounding non-sterile preparations in compliance with USP 795
b. Maintaining a clean and efficient compounding lab
II. Quality Assurance
a. Maintain pharmacy compliance with pharmacy standard operation procedures
and accreditation standards for quality assurance and quality improvement
Other Pharmacy Technician Duties to include:
· Customer Service
· Answer phone
· Greet customers
· Ring up prescriptions
· Pharmacy Operations
· Fill new and refill compounded prescription orders
· Update stock logs
· Pulling expired drugs and updating inventory
Other Responsibilities as required
- Assists pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication
- Gathers patient specific data for prescription and billing processing including but not limited to medical history, delivery preferences, allergies, etc.
- Operates and uses appropriate techniques within systems for storage, preparation and dispensing of medicinal agents
- Follows the pharmacies policies regarding medication preparation, labeling, and controlled substances reconciliation
- Communicates the need of pharmaceuticals and supplies so the day to day operations can continue
- Helps maintain orderly, clean environment in the pharmacy, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies
- Places stock on shelves or racks
- Collects/picks up empty containers or rejected merchandise
- Receives and stores incoming supplies; counts stock and enters date in computer to maintain inventory records
- Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods
- Enters patient purchases on pharmacy cash registers
Key Relationships
Work closely with other pharmacy team members to accomplish goals. Maintain positive relationships with customers, providers and medical office staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
- Multi-task efficiently
- Strong communication and phone skills
- Must be licensed by the State you are applying to work in as a Registered Pharmacy Technician, if not currently licensed, you will be required to register with the State.
Expectations:
- Employee will become certified before one year of employment, at your cost.
- Ability to provide clothing, scrubs, and shoes to leave in building (cleaning services provided).
