The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing projects related to Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. This position requires a unique combination of project management skills to coordinate initiatives and technical writing expertise to communicate complex information effectively. As a bridge between project development and documentation, you will ensure that IDD-related projects are successfully executed, and their outcomes are accurately documented and communicated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Develop and manage project plans for IDD-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IDD specialists, healthcare professionals, and technology experts, to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between project teams and stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Gather feedback from project teams, IDD specialists, and end-users to continuously improve documentation and project processes.
Content Organization:
- Structure and organize documentation logically, considering the diverse needs of stakeholders within the IDD community.
- Develop intuitive navigation systems within documentation sets to enhance user experience.
Audience Analysis:
- Understand the varying levels of technical expertise within the IDD community and tailor documentation to meet the needs of caregivers, healthcare providers, and individuals with IDD.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that both projects and documentation comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry’s best practices.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in project deliverables and technical documentation.
Multimedia Integration:
- Incorporate visual elements, such as diagrams, images, and multimedia, into documentation to enhance understanding and engagement.
Research:
- Stay informed about advancements in IDD-related technologies, therapies, and best practices through ongoing research.
- Translate emerging information into updates for documentation and project strategies.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Proven experience in both project management and technical writing roles, preferably in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Familiarity with IDD-related technologies, healthcare practices, and assistive technologies.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and project management software.
- Sensitivity to the needs and perspectives of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory requirements related to IDD documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Employees will primarily be seated for extended periods, up to 75% or more of the workday.
- Standing and walking are required occasionally, typically less than 25% of the workday.
- The role involves lifting and carrying items such as files and office supplies, generally weighing less than 10 pounds.
