In addition, the faculty member will fulfill all regular duties and commitments required of CCSC staff. An English Language (EL) teacher can expect to: Plan and teach multiple sections of ESL class to EL students at all language levelsDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students Work collaboratively to support EL students at all language levels across the curriculumDevelop an appropriate (aligned with WIDA and DESE standards and guidelines) curriculum that supports rapid language acquisition for English Learners at all language levelsEngage with families regularly to support students learning and well-being Participate in myriad forms of professional development as scheduled for all facultyEnglish Language (EL) Coordinator responsibilities include: Develop and run EL department professional development and department meetingsCoach and evaluate EL teachers, including giving feedback on curriculum, planning and instructionServe as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team and the Student Support Leadership TeamWork with the Instructional Leadership Team to coach teachers in SEI strategiesProvide school-wide PD in SEI and EL compliance topicsEnsure EL program compliance including file maintenance, progress reporting and program evaluationCommunicate with EL families and hold a minimum of 2 ELFAC meetings per school yearServe as DESE liaison for EL programming and implement changes as needed to comply with new guidelinesCollaborate with the Director of Student Support to ensure compliance through DESE Tiered Focused Monitoring Identify incoming EL students through DESE approved screening toolsCoordinate and administer annual ACCESS testQualifications: Mass.
certification in ESL grades 512 requiredExperience developing curriculum and supports for English LearnersMasters degree in ESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related field preferredCompensation: The salary range for this position is $53,763-$86,787 depending on experience.
