Compensation: $30/hr
Job Summary:
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to uphold professional interactions with customers. The Information Technology Field Service Technician is responsible for proper installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of various equipment. The Field Service Technician should have strong customer service skills and be able to simplify technical industry jargon to explain and teach customers how to use the equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and upgrade equipment maintained by the company in various field locations.
- Maintain all tools and equipment utilized in installations and service calls.
- Configure hardware and software components following installation.
- Perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on equipment.
- Accurately document installations and repairs in a timely manner.
- Manage stock of replacement parts and equipment.
- Remain up to date and knowledgeable on industry standards, software, and hardware.
- Answer customer queries, provide support, and teach customers how to properly use equipment.
- Maintain a high level of autonomy and be a self-starter.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude.
- Other additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills. Ability to clearly understand and address customer concerns.
- Ability to explain technical information expertly and simply to customers in clear terms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose malfunctions in equipment.
- Top notch time management proficiency and ability to follow through on appointments efficiently and accurately.
- Strong attention to detail. Ability to identify inconsistencies in reports and other important documents.
- Well developed organizational skills and ability to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the field.
- Familiarity with Cisco network equipment.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equal experience in the industry.
- 2-5 years of experience.
- A+ certification.
- CCNA certification.
- Advanced proficiency in IT industry terminology.
- Prior customer service experience.
