The Opportunity:
The GLDD purchasing department is responsible for enterprise-wide procurement of materials, services, and equipment through field and corporate purchasing channels in achievement of required operational service levels and cost saving initiatives, requiring close coordination and collaboration across multiple divisions, functional departments, and international boundaries. This position reports directly to the Director of Procurement.

Responsibilities
The Buyer will perform a variety of duties which may include:

Manage RFPs, negotiate proposals & set up contracts related to field services.

Issue service orders and manage the purchasing process from cradle to grave.

Monitor daily requirements in support of operations and maintenance in all aspects of preventive, reactive, and emergency field services.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to support creation of scopes for field services as needed, to bring commercial and contractual perspective.

Expedite and report status of service repairs based on assigned priorities.

Data collection and analysis of spend data related to field services.

Understanding of cost drivers based on raw material, labor, and macro-economic trends related to field services.

Maintaining day-to-day supplier relationships, including performance reviews, catalogues, contract pricing and orders to continuously improve processes and drive efficiency.

Implement strategies to improve supplier performance and reliability.

Resolve supplier-related issues, discrepancies, and conflicts effectively and in a timely manner.

Collaborate closely with the Quality department to conduct audits, raise NCRs and follow through on corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with company policies, and procedures.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, pricing, and supplier information.

Develop service scorecards that will assist to rate supplier’s performance in a consistent and objective manner.

Work with our 3PL freight forwarder to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolution of OS&D’s..

Work as directed to support Purchasing Team.
Requirements

2-4 years of experience in procurement for construction services. Preferably experience in maritime equipment.

Proficiency in MS Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Experience with Microsoft Power BI, a plus.

Ability to multi-task; prioritize daily work assignments and manage time wisely.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to respond appropriately to sensitive situations and information.

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to work well with both internal and external customers.
