REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and qualify as insurable by district insurance carrier
Ability to perform assigned duties within the physical requirements of said responsibilities and district guidelines
Three years’ experience in maintenance or documented experience in at least three of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, snow removal, lawn maintenance, painting, and small engine repair, welding, or minor vehicle repair
Preferred:
Journeyman (U.A.W. card required), or have a minimum of eight (8) years of documented experience, or have served a bonafide apprenticeship and possess a certificate which substantiates completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform specific maintenance repairs on district facilities and equipment including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, snow removal, lawn maintenance, welding, and minor vehicle repair.
2. Assist district maintenance and other personnel when directed.
3. Perform work assignments within district, state or federal guidelines.
4. Carry out assignments within prescribed safety standards.
5. Recommends or instructs school district staff on proper methods of procedure and applies proper use of tools in repair work or preventative maintenance.
6. Performs a variety of duties in technical repair and maintenance.
7. Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains an inventory of said district-owned tools, equipment and supplies, as required.
8. Recommends, upon request, estimate of technical repair projects in terms of labor, materials, and overhead.
9. Advises, coordinates and reviews with the Maintenance Supervisor repair jobs which may be performed by maintenance and outside contractors, as deemed appropriate.
10. Examines district-owned facilities on a periodic basis for purposes of preventive maintenance.
11. Perform other assignments as directed or instructed via verbal or written communications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Willingness to accept responsibility and independently solve problems.
2. Ability to interact professionally with staff, students and general public.
3. Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, walking, bending, with ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
4. Ability to climb and safely use ten-foot step ladder and thirty-foot extension ladder.
5. Willingness to participate in training to improve job performance.
6. Ability to work under pressure.
7. Ability to answer or search out answers to questions and communicate the answer as requested.
8. Ability to operate all maintenance vehicles and equipment.
9. Ability to meet district/state or other agency requirements per licensing or authorizations as required.

260 days per year / 8 hours per day / Monday – Friday / Scheduled work hours 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
