Hydro Service and Supplies is a leader in the design, fabrication, installation, and service of high purity water systems. What began as a small start-up Service DI (SDI) company in 1967 is today an industry standard for customized pretreatment and filtration skids, high purity water generation systems, storage and distribution skids, reclamation systems, and high-performance process skids for Life Sciences.
Our Durham, NC team is searching for an Automation Specialist. This position is vital to the success of the operation of our water treatment equipment. This position is a full-time role, regular hours Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Overtime may be expected during times of peak demand. Advancements in the company are based on merit.
Responsibilities
- Setup associated instrumentation to communicate with Control Panels.
- Interface with vendors and internal customers for troubleshooting.
- Develop and understand electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
- Participate in training as required.
- Troubleshoot programming and electrical problems of water purification systems.
- Design and program HMI screens.
- Provide end-user training/coaching on controllers, and software issues.
- Install and assist in the programming of multiple VFD's.
- Program Allen Bradley logic controllers, drive systems and HMI's.
- Perform electrical and mechanical work associated with water systems.
- Perform required validation testing and documentation.
- Perform various field modifications during start-up to ensure correct system performance.
- Create design and documentation for: electrical power distribution, control panel layouts, electrical schematics.
- Comply with all documentation requirements regarding processing, GMP safety, housekeeping, environmental, and sanitation.
- Some travel to job sites is required.
Qualification Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology Preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- A valid driver’s license w/ record in good standing is required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills,
- Ability to take initiative, use good judgment,
- Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency.
- Detail oriented
- Works independently without direct supervision.
- Hands on type of background (mechanical, plumbing, and electrical experience helpful).
